I posted this before but didn't get many replies so I thought I would try again. We are considering the name Remi for a girl. I think it is cute and unique but I also wonder if it can grow with her. Also, I would like to have a longer name that Remi is short for but all the names I can think of are pretty awful so it might the first name, without a longer version. Honest opinions, what do you think of Remi? Also, our last name is Rothstein. How do you think that would sound?
I actually like Remi/Remy. There's a Saint Remy, I believe it's short for Remigius, which I would never use! But, Remy is a name I've considered but haven't attempted to talk my dh into. It's also the name of one of my favorite bands, Remy Zero and it's one of the character' in House of Cards on Netflix. I think it's a great name and Remi would be fine for a little girl.
Mom to 4 beautiful kids! 3 on Earth and 1 in heaven. Our little girl, Matilda Hope had Down Syndrome. She was born with TMD, a disease that is like leukemia. She fought that and beat it. Then, she had liver failure. She beat that, too. On October 17, 2014 she had NEC, necrotizing enterocolitis. My baby went to Heaven on October 19, 2014. She lived exactly one month.
I like Remi a lot! It's one of the very few names I don't have a strong gender bias towards. I would use Remi on its own, as I don't like any long version of the name. I also love alliteration names, so I think it sounds great with your last name! Good luck!
