I am not sure how things work where you live, Over here you have to go to the registrar of births to get forms to change names. I shouldnt think there would be a problem but I would think that her name would be the same on her original birth cert, my mum was adopted and her adoptive parents changed her name, she has 2 different certs.

Here in Indiana, it's no problem to change a birth certificate before the age of 2. Before the age of 2, I went in to the Department of Health in the county she was born in, filled out a form, paid $10, and it was changed. I don't know the process for older than 2, but I know it is significantly more complicated. I'd check with your local Department of Health (I found our info & forms online).

Here's a link that might be helpful:

I'm not sure its worth the effort, time and money to change a middle name, unless you're calling her by the middle name. It is alot more problematic after age 2 I hear.

I don't really know what I think about changing the name of a child. Payge is already apt. to her first and middle names. I can be like Brooklynne Payge and she looks or just Brooklynne or just Payge. What does your little girl think of it.
