We were watching Intervention on A&E and this guy's girlfriend's name was Madyson. DH said "ooooh that might be one to put on the list". I think this name is cute but I DO NOT like that spelling...what other spellings are there? Also...do you think of this as more of a girl's name or a guy's name. I know a guy named Madison but no girls.

TIA!

As a teacher I think the name is FAR too overused. There's sooo many little girls named that.

I watched it too and was telling DH how surprised I was to hear an adult with that name!

I know...it's so popular. I see people on here all the time with DD's with this name ..personally I don't know any little girls named Madison but I still am aware of it's popularity. I think the name is nice and I'm considering it because DH seems to like it but I really don't like the idea of my daughter being one of 6 Madison's in her 1st grade class. I don't know...

Do any of the girls in your class spell it differently?

Madison is very common here, but it's still a beautiful name. I like it as Madison or Maddison. Madelyn & Madeleine might be an alternative if you want something similar but not quite as popular or maybe even Addison (that's becoming popular pretty quickly too) My best friend used Madison as her daughter's middle name.

It just looked weird to me. I see "dyson" and like the vacuum and want to pronounce it Ma-DIEson...it just seems weird to me. *shrug*

Well, Madison is the next town over from me, so I think of the town when I hear the name. I might use the "y" spelling to make it less like the town.

I really don't like the name Madison. It's a masculine name that means "son of Maud". It's sooo overused and unattractive.
