Maisie is a Scottish version of Margaret. We've thought of using Marguerite nn Maisie, since Marguerite is a family name for us.

Other variations:

Marjorie
Megan
Margot
Mara (although this one can also be derived from other sources)

You could use Maggie or Greta . These are nn for Margaret. They may be best for middle names.

My moms name is Margaret too, she was named after her grandmother(first and middle name) and wants me to name my second daughter after her(them) since my mom is the second daughter.

Anyway, Maggie I think is a common variation, and I read in my name book Ghita...I have an aunt Margaret(dads side of the family) and they call her Peggy...

I like Maggie or Mara (love Mara) I also think it would be cool to carry on the Michelle name. Its something all three of you would share.

I think Margaret is a BEAUTIFUL name and you have the best reasons to use it. I wouldn't change a thing!
