I like Jameson the best, because I think Jamie(or other spellings) are a little more common. But I do like Jamie

I don't think Jameson is a girl's name or at least to me, it doesn't sound like a girl's name.

If you have to use a version of James I would go with at least something unisex like Jamie, except *I think* (not sure) that the feminine spelling is Jaime.

My grandmother was named after her father--his name was James--they named her Jimmie. Needless to say, she did not appreciate having a boy's name.

Have to agree....Jameson just sounds like a boys name to me. Not that it matter because a lot of names are used for boy male and female these days.

Jamie is the only one I like out of those for a girl, I like it spelled Jayme for a girl though which doesnt really look like James then

I know a little girl named Jamison with the nn Jami and I think it is pretty cute. I like the name for a girl better than for a boy.

Another feminine of James is Jamesina or Jamisa
John Belushi's daughter is named Jamison Bess. I think it looks a little bit more feminine spelled that way than Jameson, plus the nn Jami is girly.

I'm not a fan of Jamie so I like Jameson best. Are you wanting this for a 1st name or a middle name?

Not a fan of the female variations personally.

BUT - I do know a lady who named her little girl James - but I think she spelled it Jaimes?
Jaymes? who knows lol. I thought it was neat

I like the name Jamison. Infact we had talked about it for our daughter born in April, but decided on Charlee instead.

The only one I am ok with is Jamie...I don't know why Jameson is now considered a girls name it's so masculine sounding! It has a boys name in it (James) and it ends in -son. I just don't get it...

I have to agree with you about the "son" names being for boys. It does mean "son of", which even hubby pointed out when I read the post and asked his opinion. I recall we had this discussion about a month ago on here; in that thread, someone thought that Alison was an exception, though it isn't, it's just become commonly thought of as a girls name in modern times. So maybe one day Jameson will be too. Madison is now thought of as a girls name, and Emerson is on it's way there, so who knows. I just can't picture names like Harrison, Colson, Donaldson etc on a girl, no, not even Jameson IMO. Just call the girl Jamie for petes sake.
