Hi everyone,

My husband and I aren't struck on calling the baby "it" while its still a fetus (and while we're still unsure of the sex) so my last pg we named the fetus Charlie (b/c it was gender neutral - Charles/Charlotte). I lost Charlie to m/c in January but am delighted to be pg again

Anyone have any gender neutral name suggestions for this little bean?

We called Ty, Peanut while in utero. I had a hard time switching over to Tyler after we found out he was a boy. I thought for sure I was gonna call him Peanut after he was born.

But Jamie is a boy and girl name

LOL! Peanut is so cute!

DH's name is James so I'm not struck on that. And his grandparents have a "Lassie" dog named Jamie...just can't get over that!!

Well, lol, I know you won't want to do this but we call her fetus! I'm not sure how it started but that's what everyone including my sons call her. Even when dh and I are talking it's "fetus' room" or "once fetus is here". I know it sounds funny but it seems so natural after calling her that for months! My 3 yr.old thinks we should name her fetus. I do draw the line there however!

How about Jean/Gene? Or Lee?

I am not pg yet, but I have a feeling that when the time comes we will call "it" things like Sweetie, or Little One, or Love Bug.... but that is because we won't be finding out the sex of our children until they are born.

Good Luck!

I like Kris for a neutral name...If it's a boy, Kristofer...If it's a girl, Kristina.

We always seemed to call ours Babywalker... b/c our last name is Walker.. I always felt funny call the baby ANYTHING until we had decided on an actual name, but if we had not found out he sex, we just called the baby= BABY. We always found out the sex & the once we decided on the name, we refered to them as such..

Just wait & see what comes out!! You may surprise yourself with coming up w/something cute for yourself!

Well I called my little one "Hagatha" - the most awful name I could think of, because everybody kept bugging me to tell the name. When I said that, they would shut up quick. But I'll tell you something weird, by the end, Haggie was sounding normal to my ears.

No, we didn't name her that though

My friend called her baby in utero "Sam" - (Samantha-girl, Samuel-boy) She ended up having a boy and naming him something completely different, but the in-utero name was perfect!

My SIL refused to tell anyone the name they had chosen for their third child and my MIL ended up calling it Petunia because we knew it was a girl. After she was born, we all found out the name chosen (Elsa Annaliese).

Lol, at the dr.'s office Tues., Sam brought a couple of his matchbox cars. Well, (this is where it can get embarassing) he talks almost every day to fetus and I make her "talk" back. No problem at home. So we're at the dr.'s and he runs the cars on my belly and in his high-pitched, talking-to-fetus voice says "Here Fetus, this is your car!" and "Look at my red wheels-I'm fast, Fetus! Do you want to race?" And on and on. Of course there's a room full of people and he just gets louder if I don't make fetus "talk" back so I have to do my high-pitched fetus voice.
I wonder what people think of him saying fetus? I wonder what they think of ME talking for fetus, lol! Oh well, it'll be funny to look back on later.

I had a strong feeling that both of mine would be boys.... So even before I found out I was calling them by their names.. Walker and Braxton.. I am glad I didn't have to change it..

Madison was sweetie pea - her Grampy still calls her pea. we call her Madi, wormburger and bratneck.

Dawson was chocolate - chosen by dd, he is now called Heimer, Hammer and anything else by Grampy. I call him bud, dh calls him a bratneck.

Olivia has been called Lucky - she is due May 1st, but since that is today and she is showing no signs of wanting to come out, I guess i'm going over.

Amanda

*bratneck was chosen when dd was little she used to watch land before time and would stretch her neck and say look I'm a long neck and dh told her she was a "brat"neck. it has stuck for 8 yrs now.

If I heard this I would laugh because its funny however I also have to say that I think its very important that children learn words like Fetus early on. Think about it when he hears that word from now on he will always associate it with a baby and thats a good thing. I think that children should also use the proper name for body parts instead of nicknames.

We just call ours "the baby"

OMG berrygirll that was so funny I almost peed myself laughing! I can picture it now.... especially since I make the little high pitch voice to talk for my little one to my bf. At night he always tells the baby good night, so I get my little voice going and say goodnight daddy to him.

As for what call the baby. We usually just call him/her Alex since both names we chose can be shortened to Alex. When not calling he/she Alex, I just say the baby though.

That is too funny - and very sweet.

We have already started referring to our future baby as Baby Boo.
