How would you pronounce that name?

I would say JA-NEW-A but a girl at my work has a 3 year old daughter and named her that (Jenua DaVonne) and calls her JA-NAY! I am anal when it comes to grammar and spelling so it drives me crazy. She was just trying to be different and it really irritates me because now this poor little girl has to go through life with everyone calling her JANEWA instead of her name. WDYT?

When I first read your topic I thought that it was pronounced Ja-new-ah as well. I would NEVER have guessed the way the mother says it! Either way it is NMS!

I think it looks awful spelled that way. The way she pronounces it, is nice, it's a nice sounding name, but it should be spelled Janay or Janae IMO.

Je-new-uh... JUST like it looks!

I can't believe the mother would pronounce the girls' name like she did. It's amazing to me how people can really hack and screw up a name for a kid. It's sad, really.
