I know a Lane,,, I went to hs with him,,, we were friends and he was a nice guy.. so that makes me somewhat like the name,, but I think if I didn't have a good association with it I wouldn't like it at all

I like it. It's usually used as a girls name, but I think it has a more masculine feel to it.

I don't care for it. I think where I like the NN Lainey for a girl, I find it hard to see on a boy.

I like it.
It's definitely a boy's name. Not just in my opinion, but also in my baby names books, and according to the SSA list. It ranks 315 for boys but doesn't rank at all for girls.
When I hear it I think of John Cusack (who was one of my teen crushes ) because that was his character in Better Off Dead.

I also think of John Cusack (I LOVE him) when I hear that name. I really like Lane for a boy!
