Ok...you said you could take it
Both names have a nice ring to them. They aren't terrible by any means...but Kellan sounds very close to "Killing" in my ear, and that could be a problem. Maybe if you spelled it "Kelan" which is the way it is traditionally spelled anyways, it would be a little better? And Katen...well, where did you come up with it? I've never heard of it anywhere and because I'm a nerd I researched it and I can't find it anywhere...I much prefer the name Kate personally. It also sounds very close to Caiden. I'm not overly fond of it. However, I like that they are "clean" names, they are not spelled all crazy, and the middle names have signifigance. So, I guess in a nutshell they are definately NMS, but not horrible!

I like Kelan, but only spelled this way. For some reason I don't like the double "L" .... but its the sound of the name that matters the most.... so, I really like it!

I don't like Katen, but I think Kate is beautiful.

Not commenting on the middle names because it doesn't matter!!!

Congrats!

I have never heard of the name Katen before. Kate would make a pretty nickname.
Is the name Kellan unisex? I have a girlfriend by that name.

Congrats again! I hope to be leaving the TTC boards for a DDC myself soon! Have a wonderful pregnancy!

Thanks ladies! I agree on Kelan with one L. Especially since everyone in our family has 5 letters right now, it would be cool to keep that trend.Kelan is and irish boys name. I guess I should have mentioned Katen will be called Kate. Thanks for your opinions .

edited to add (this is where I saw Katen) I didn't make it up, it's a real name :-) )

Hey, I'm not sure if you are pronouncing Kelan like "KEE-lan" or "KEH-lan" I am assuming the first way. I like it but think I'd prefer spelling it Keelan.

I am not a fan of the name Katen. It sounds sort of made up & I think another variation of Katherine would be cuter. I guess another criticism of the name (I'm just saying all this since you said you can take it!) is that to me it sounds too close to Kitten. That was just my 1st impression & opinion but if you love the name, stick to it! It's definitely unique and not too out there.

The first names aren't my style. I love the name Colleen and I think it is neat the middle names mean something to you.
