I needed some input regarding the name "RILEY" I know it is both a boy and a girl name but was wondering in all of your opinions is it more a boy or girl name? I have already asked this question on the Dec DD board aswell but just wanted to get as much input on this name as possible. Thank you.

I like it as both really. I think its a really nice name for a girl, but I do know more boys with the name.

I think that the spelling you used is more appropriate for a boy, but could be used for a girl too. For a girl, you could also change up the spelling. Here are a few examples: Rilee, Rileah, Rileigh, Rylee, Ryleah, Ryleigh. I think for a girl those spellings are much more feminine looking (jmo).

Good Luck!

Christina

I agree with Christina, the spelling makes it more masculine.

Personally, I think of it as a boy's name but I think it's because a close friend has a boy Riley...

When I think of the name Riley I instantly think of it being a boy's name - but I think it is really cute as a girl's name too. So I like it for both.

Riley is one of the truly unisex names, I think. But in my personal experience, I only know one little boy Riley, and three little girl Riley's (though one spells it "Rylee").

However, I think its a terrific name all around - happy sounding, good nickname, syllabic enough to match with many last names.
