I think of it as a boys name too. But there is also a new mom who named her daughter Ashtyn which I think is pretty. I'm just leary myself of naming a boy something that could turn out to be either boy/girl. I like my boy names to be boy names and the same w/girl names, no dealing with confusion over the gender. That's just my opinion, if you like Ashton, go for it!

I mostly hear it as just a boys name but I think its more girls,,, I think because the root of it being "Ash" and that reminds me of Ashley

I've heard it as both but I think of it more of a girls name for the same reason Kat said it reminds me of Ashley.

When I hear it I think of Ashton Kutcher so I think boys name - but I think it could be used for either a boy or a girl.

I'd say it can go either way, but I'd say girl Ashton is cuter b/c it's original and doesn't remind people as much of Ashton K.
