I am having so much trouble picking out a 'boy' name. We've known from very early on we were having a boy, and while a like a lot of names, I can't use them due to close friends or family members who have the same ones. I have a daughter named Sofia, so I wanted something to kind of 'go' with that. Is that silly? Husband is leaving it all up to me, since I've vetoed every name he's suggested!

Only ones I've considered, I've been told by several close family and friends that they "HATE"!!!

Oliver
Oscar
Wyatt

Any opinions or suggestions?

Thanks!

leslie

I loveeee Oliver and I really like Wyatt too. I would not listen to friends and family as this is not their baby My friend hates the name I picked out and my Mom says it sounds so old. I love it and am sticking with it!

I love the name Wyatt! I have actually decided on that as the middle name if I have a son. I wouldn't worry so much about others opinions. You are never going to find a name that everyone likes so if you are happy with it then that is all that matters.

I agree with the other ladies, this is your baby not theirs. Name it whatever you want. Out of your choices, I like Wyatt the best. Good Luck with the decision.

I LOVE the name Oliver!! ANd Sofia and Oliver sound so adorable together! Go with what YOU really love. As in the end they won't be able to see your little bundle of love named anything else!

i think oliver is awesome! sooooo cute, but it will also "grow-up" nicely. and I echo the sentiment that you should name your baby whatever you want. it's no one's business.

We were thinking of Wyatt too- but it conjure up images of cowboys to me and we are definite city people.

We are considering Oscar too- because it was DH's grandfather's name. I am worried that it is a little too unusual.

As for others we like:

Elliott
Everett
Emmett
Owen
Griffin
Barrett

Let us know what you decide on!

Thanks Everyone for your suggestions and advice! I've changed my mind a thousand times after reading EACH POST!!!!

Despite the fact that MOSTLY everyone we've told HATES this name, I think we're going to go with OSCAR. ALthough I do love the name Oliver (probably because I really wanted to name a girl OLIVIA!), I hate the idea of people calling him 'Ollie', which I KNOW my family would do! While Wyatt would be the 'safest' name to pick, and not many people would openly dislike it....something in me is screaming out for OSCAR!

Of course, there's Oscar the Grouch, and the old "Oscar Mayer Weiner" advertisements to contend with....but hopefully that won't be an issue!!
