My husband and I are thinking about getting a new dog (would get a female puppy)... not sure what breed yet, we are looking into a couple different ones. Of course I'm already thinking about names... but not sure what I would want to call "her" We have a female Boxer/Great Dane named Harley.

What female name would would you suggest for our new puppy (if we get one)? The dog would be medium-large in size.

If I was to get a female dog, I would name it one of my guilty pleasure names that I probably wouldn't name my child:

~ Tallulah
~ Scout
~ Piper
~ Nyla

My niece's name is Piper, I wouldn't ever name a dog that!!! LOL

Thanks for the suggestions, DH wants to name her "Bob" LOL No way!!!!

I really want to get a dalmation, and I think "Dottie" would be cute for a name... but I also think that is so typical (kinda like Spot LOL).

My dog is a chow/lab mix...her name is Milly. She was named after the new millenium since she was born at the end 1999.

Jaden loves her to pieces...they get on each others nerves and fight like siblings...but they are so close!
Good luck deciding a name!!

I had a dog named Duster (malamute) one named Kuma (also a Malamute.. it means bear in Japanese) and a dog named Cagney (Collie/Black Lab X.. she had a sister named Lacey..lol we didn't own lacey though)

If you are into it... try giving the dog a name that means something in a different language! like I did with Kuma.. It's just these days animal names are so...people-ized! with names that you would find on the populat baby name list (not that there is anything wrong with that) I just like the less popular names.

Names I would suggest:

Italics (like the cat that Richard Greer's character has in Runaway Bride)
Mystic (you could call her Mysti!)
Kuma (Japanese for bear)
Helix (Ok this is a bit odd even for me.. but it sounds kinda cool!)
Tishka (name of a great dog i once knew)
Chinnook (Inuit for Northern Wind.. i believe)
Pandamonium (I actually knew a dog named this..lol she was a bit crazy! they called her Panda)
Tank (My hubby knew a Am Staff named that and now is convinced that if we have a dog we MUST name it that)
Dozer

And for the Canadian pet owner.... I knew a Yorkie named... Timbit lol

I hope you find the perfect dog and perfect name for her!
