Okay. I've already said DF likes Dante.

Well, he was trying to think of other names that are connected to both authors/poets AND sports figures.

Dante he likes because of Dante Alighieri, and also some guy named Dontae (sp?) Stallworth (a football player?).

So now he's come up with Niccolo. As in, Niccolo Machiavelli, and some other football player named Nick Harper.

I really don't mind the association. I kind of like it. BUT I mentioned this to his sister, and she immediately says ... "Oh, really? Niccolo. Kind of sounds like MICHELOB."

Do you think Niccolo sounds like Michelob? I know that sounds stupid. But I keep repeating it and it kind of does.

Niccolo does not make me think of Michelob. That would never have crossed my mind unless you had said that. Is she particularly fond of beer or something?[/b]
YES she is! Man, she is such a drunk ... but their whole family is!

I wonder if the rest of them will think of it too.

Not my first thought. I actually associated it with Riccolo (the cough drops!)

But Niccolo is very different so that is good.

The only associations I have with Dante, is the character from the movie Clerks.

Well I guess it would depend on how you would pronounce it.

Are you saying Nick Co Lo?

Or Nee Co Lo?

(i ask cause my hubby has a uncle named Nico (nee co) )

I still don't think of the beer though... lol I wonder what was on her mind at that time...lol

I like the name actually

Um, NEE co lo. It is supposed to be after Machiavelli. He was Italian, after all. If I was going to say Nick, I might as well use Nicholas instead. Although most people will probably try to say it Nick.

Not "Michaelo". Michelob. It's a brand of beer. Pronounced MICK-el-obe.

they kinda sound alike, but I'm not sure if I would have even noticed if you didn't mention it. I don't think its something you would really have to worry about.

I instantly thought of the cough drops too! I think Dante is really cute and like Dante Harper. Oh yeah, to answer your OP, I don't think it sounds like Michelob at all!
