So Bean #2 is baking and I gotta fire up the name machine for real now.

Looking for eclectic and/or old fashioned names to throw into the mix.

My daughter is Quinn.

I like names like Elle, Avery, Cadence, Maeve, and Kay for girlies
and
for boys, I like names like Emmett, Everett, Cole and Mick

Can you give me suggestions in that flavor, ladies? I need a nice big list to start the wargames properly with DH

Nothing in the "-en" family, please. (Caeden, Braden, Aiden, Jaden)

ChristaT - if you're reading, I'm talkin' to you!! We have the same taste, as I recall!

Obvioulsy Elle and Emmett rock LOL I am a huge fan also of Maeve! I just think the meaning "intoxicating" is so beautiful! And Everett is a great one too!

As for some others:
Brynn (if our he comes out a she this would likely the the name LOL)
Iris
Scarlett
Eve
Eleri
(can spell that a million ways, also considered for Elle's name)
Now I know you want to stay away from the -en but I like the name Arden (pro like ARdin)
A name that I like but can't use is Tierney (my last name starts with a T and it would be too much) It is an Irish name

Randall (which I actually like for a girl too (silly of me I know)
Abbott
Elliott
(I loved this name so much but could not use it as a first name, I mean Elle and Elliott so it became his middle name LOL)

I am so no help when it comes to boys names since I have had mine picked since before Elle LOL But my advice is to take your list and scramble it between other names (even if you are not crazy about all of them) DH may get suspicious if all the names you like happen to be in a row and I love the list you have now! So try it out and let us know what happens hehe

Oh I knew I could count on you!! Thank you, thank you.

Love Brynn....but mainly bc it sounds like Quinn, my daughter's name! Brynn and Quinn LOL - DH would kill me

Eleri is superpretty and I just love Tierney too. Abbott is great also. I like Elliot but I can hear DH imitating the movie that immortalized the name ("Phone home! ET phone home!")

I also like TuckerMom's suggestion of Adaline - coincidentally the name of my great-aunt! (she goes by Lily).

Keep 'em coming, gals. So appreciative!

I'm NOT fan of the trendy names... think of Agnes. That was clearly trendy and you just don't meet an Agnes who's less than 80.... trendy is tough I think....just my opinion. I'm all about the old fashioned names.

Girls:
Chloe
Ingrid
Sarah
Elizabeth

Boys:
Nathan (Nate, Nathaniel)
Joseph

I thought that I might let you in on some info about the name Adelaide. I noticed one of the ladies mentioned it. I have a friend and her name is Adelaid (pronounced the same, just without the e). The spelling with the e is German.

Good Luck! Let us know what you and DH narrow it down to.
