I really don't like it. I mean, I guess it would be ok (IMO) to use it as a middle name if the name was a family name.... but I think it is so commonly used.

Nicole is OK, when its used. Most of the Nicoles I know use the nn Nikki, which I really don't like. I guess I prefer Nicola or Nicolette.

Well, since my name is Nicole...I must say, I love it! Seriously, I have always liked my name and have always gotten compliments on it growing up. However...I'm 31 so it was newer when I was younger...it is much more common now.
My friends and family don't really call me nikki..although in college they did, but it there was a reason behind it (long story). People call you what you call yourself usually. I've always introduced myself as Nicole.
Anyway...I like it.

It's ok -- I would definitely prefer it as a mn , just because it is SO popular / over used .

I love the name Nicole! I don't think it is over used at all. What irratates me is when people try and make a new spelling out of a classic name. That is just wrong.

I prefer Nicole over Nicky but I also like using whole names instead of shortening them...hence all my kids names. I've always been Allison...not Allie.

Why in the heck would you bring up a name just so you could say how much you dislike it??? You really don't seem to like many names though, so whatever.

It's a great name...not NicHOLE, but Nicole.

I personally love that name. I cannot understand all of these people saying they really don't like it when there are so many women on here with that name. That seems cruel!

Nicole is a great name. I love the way it sounds and even though its a very popular name it has a very modern touch to it.

I think the "ettiquette" thread should be reviewed for this forum. JMO.
