I dislike Finn & Jett, but I don't mind some other new & trendy names. It just depends on what it is.

I'm not into most of the new, trendy names. I prefer the old classics.

Finn is ok, though.

I like Finley, with Finn as a nn. I think Jett is ok but would never use it myself

I'm not a fan of the "made-up" names. If I'm going to be honest, I think it's a show-off thing from the parents more than it is a gift to the child. "Let's see how different we can be, and people will be impressed with us!!!!!"

LOL.. a woman in a doctor's office had to teach me how to say her daughter's name..... and made sure she pronounced it so I KNEW it was different than the regular way.. "EEEEEEsabella." Not Isabella...lol.

To each his own, but as long as you're asking...lol.

Well, I have my quirks.
I like the more 'glamorous' trendy names like designer names.
For example, Dior and Chanel, but I would never use them.
I just like their products.

I don't really think of Finn or Jett as "trendy" per say. When I think of trendy I think of Aiden, Jayden, Brayden....etc. All of which are cute, but too common for my liking.

I love the name Rocklin for a boy. I guess that's kind of similar in style to Jett and Finn...

My name tastes are all over the board...I like a name if it has a nice sound to me...some "old classics" others "new & trendy"...It doesn't matter how long it's been around to me.

I think it really depends on the name. It's also hard to define trendy these days. The "classic" names are just as trendy and overused (if not more) these days.

I love traditional names so I'm not usually big into any of the new/trendy names, they are just NMS.

My son's name is Finn. A few months after he was born is when Julia Roberts had her babies. I don't consider it trendy but, surprisingly, becoming more popular. It is a very common and classic name in Ireland, Scotland, etc.

But, I am not big on names that sound made up.

I love the name Finn! As someone else said, it's a classic Irish name... not a made up name! (Plus there's the character Finny--Phineas--in A Separate Peace, which is a classic book.) I prefer Finn to Phineas, which I think is what Julia Roberts named her son.

I think another reason I dislike the "trendy" names so much is that it's just that... they're "trendy." Think about it this way: Black stirrup pants with white flat Fayva shoes was the trend in 1984. THANK GOODNESS none of us decided to commit to that for the rest of our lives.
Trends change, and when you're "stuck" with a trendy name, all it accomplishes in my opinion is letting people know what generation you are. How many Agnes' do you know who are under 95 years old? That's because in the year 1912, Agnes was THE name for your daughter...lol.

Anyways, it totally comes down to a matter of opinion, but the made up names I think are just a way for people to try and be different. The challenge there is, everyone else who wants to be different likes your name, so they take it and then it's an epidemic!

Some of the names are beautiful... just not my style.
