I like them all......my favs I guess would be Ellie and Ellis.

YOu could name your girl Elle and call her Ellie for a nn and you could do the same for Ellison---call him Ellis. There ya go! Problem solved! There's a way to use both!

I think Elle and Ella are a bit over used, but I do like Ellis for a boy. Different, but not too different

Best of luck!

I love those names. I especially love Ellis. I like maymay's idea about using the full name and shortening it. Genius!

DH's niece is named Elle and it just doesn't fit, they usually just call her baby.

Oh, and her middle name is Kay so it's like the faucets El-Kay

I like Elle/Ellie, as a nickname for Eleanor/Eleanora.

Ellis/Ellison isn't my style.

I prefer Ellis nn Ellie/Elle for a girl only. It's very feminine sounding for a male IMO.

I like Ellie or Ella as nicknames but I don't care for Eleanor or Eleanora.

I love Ellis. It is one of the names we are considering for a MN because we pulled letters from each of our first names and came up with it....

I love Ellie and Ella and Elle, but as mentioned, they are becoming quite mainstream.

As an alternative, because my DH refuses to agree with it... WHy not try:

Ellia
Elaya (EL-AY-AH)

LOVE Ellis and Ellison for a boy still.... :-) But maybe Edison?

i think the name Ellie is cute, but I dont like Ellis or Ellison for a boy at all. They sound too feminine.
