I actually adore it and wanted to use it if we had a boy, but a friend of a friend has a dog named Riley, and it kind of killed it for me.

It's okay for a boy but I think it is really popular for a girl. I actually prefer it for a girl and spelled Ryleigh.

It's gotten so popular as a girl's name, I can't imagine it on a boy.

When I see Riley, I automatically think it's a girl..
I don't like the name on either gender though.

I think Riley is very cute for a boy. It is my nephew's middle name (Trenton Jacob Riley) so I wouldn't be able to use it, but it's definitely adorable!

Riley is my parents' dog, also Ft. Riley, Kansas where I lived for a few years of my childhood, thirdly the human Riley's I've heard of have been girls.

A nice name that I think has been co-opted by too many different associations, some not pleasant... at least for me.

I really like the name Riley. I considered using it for a girl. I don't think it's a bad name for a boy but it makes me wonder if it's going to be like Shannon and Kelly which started out as names for boys. Just something to consider.
