Here's my first attempt at a short list of girl names. I'd love critiques. I've included information for particular names. Thanks in advance!
Dixie - Dh's favorite--mine too, but some some negative comments have pushed me away from this name
Adella (nn Addie) - I don't love this, but want to use a name from my dad's side. It's the only family side we have not used a name from. This is derived from the family name Della (hence the spelling).
Tamsin (but I don't like Tammy as a nn)
Ashlyn (I like this, but have bad memories of someone named this! Also, it might by too close to Ansley, which is a first cousin name)
Dixie: I don't really like this
Adella (nn Addie) - I think this is cute & really like the family connection. Della is cute too.
Harper--this doesn't sound good to my ears.
Aria-don't like this
Delaney--cute. not something I'd use but I'd think it was cute if I heard someone else's kid with this name
Tamsin--I like this name and strongly dislike the nn Tammy
Hadley--I don't like this name on a girl or a boy. There's so many that are cuter.
Ashlyn--NMS b/c it ends with "lyn"
Melanie or Melaina (nn Mellie)--Melanie seems too 80s and Melaina is OK I guess, though I prefer Alaina. I really don't like the nn Mellie...Smelly Mellie is what I think of.
