WDYT? I think it's kinda pretty, but I wonder if people would associate it with the Amityville movies. Oh and you can be honest... Im not pregnant.. I just want to know people's honest opinions on names.
Amity has always been a guilty pleasure of mine, I love it. I knew a girl named Amity in college and she made me love the name. With the horror association I dont know if id ever use it though. Maybe as a middle name.
Amity means friendship or goodwill. It also has a really nice, pretty ring to it. I wouldn't let those movies deter you from a beautiful name![/b]
But they'll be everyone's first association. Her entire life, she'll get "Like the Amityville movies?"
It is pretty, but I'd have to vote no on that reason.
It won't be everyone's first association. It's not mine and someone else said it wasn't theirs either. Some people will think of it and some won't. There's no scary movie associated with "Lauren" but I still get "Oh my cousin has that name" and "like Lauren Bacall?" and even "You spell it like Lauryn Hill, right?" (and I'm not exactly thrilled with any of those questions). If it's not that they write Laura or Laurel, like they can't hear me or something. There will always be someone who has an association with a name.
