I worked w/ an art teacher and her first name was Tinsley--and she was in her 50's...I've never heard of the name until I met her....the name really had to grow on me.....

It makes me think of Christmas and tinsel. I also don't like the root word (and probable nn) Tins. I think there are much better -ley names IMO.

There's a girl in the movie Summer Catch named Tinley or Tinsley (I can't remember which) and I loved the name when I first heard it..

That sounds like a surname-name from the first time that trend was big (in the Old South). Like Beylar.

ITA that it reminds me of Christmas trees. Not pretty ones either. Those huge late 70s ones covered in the silver tinsel and those bubbly lights.

Tinsley is Dave Matthew's violin player. Boyd Tinsley. Thats what I think of but Idon't think its a horrible name
