Of course, my husband and I have been going through the baby name wars lately. So I decided to give in and do some research. As I looked through the list of baby names that my husband suggested, I figured that finding out the meanings would be a good way to help us illiminate names and decide on one.
Yes, it's my husband that likes the name Vardus.
He also liked the name Colt and wanted to name our son "Vardus Colt". Of course, I think he is ridiculus, but I figured I humor him by looking up the meaning of his names as well. Well, needless to say - I couldn't even find the name Vardus. The closest I got was Varden, which means Green Slide - sounds gross if you ask me.
Then I looked up the name Colt, but ended up finding the name Colton instead. Colton means "town of colt breeding", which is pretty fitting considering we live in KY and have Derby affiliations.
Of course, I'm thinking about Colton and wandering to myself if I would like it and thinking that it's a great compromise. I talked to DH about the name and he REALLY liked it.
And I really like it, too!! It's much better than VARDUS!!
So... I now need help thinking of a great middle name to go with it.
Mine are very oldish...but Colton is a hard one to think of...i wish you the best of luck!
