I am two weeks away from my due date! With our baby girl arriving so soon, I wanted to get some of your opinions on the name we chose. It is Sabine (pronounced SAB-EE-NA). I wonder if people will call her "SA-BEAN" because of the "e" at the end. What do you all think?
That was my first thought when I saw the name. I don't know how important having to correct folks will be to you. Once they know that it's SAB-EE-NAH I'm sure they'll remember. Of course, you could allways spell it Sabina, which is another verision of Sabine... For what it's worth, I do think it's lovely!
I agree with bunnershunny. It is a very pretty name, but you may get some people that never get it right. My niece's name is Elsa but is pronounces EL-ZA (not quite sure on the pronounciation spelling). It is german and my SIL was originally gonna spell it Else, but because of the chance people would call her Else, she changed the e to an a. You might consider that too, but its all up to you.
Good Luck in your decision. Let us know what you decide.
AJ (age 7) & Katie (age 2.5) PM to see if I am available to make a siggy - decisions will be made on a case by case basis.
