I think it might work if you spell it Madeleine...

It seems really forced. The sounds are there but they're not in the right order at all. But then Liney doesn't sound too nice.

Laney is cute...if you want it as the nickname then go for it! i know a girl called Tara who goes by the nn of Bindi and both names suit her.

I think Linney would be a cute nn myself. That just my opinion though.

It is not a common nickname for Madeleine but who cares? Nicknames can be whatever you want them to. I think it is absolutely fine.

LOL, Linney (pronouncing this kind of like Lynn-ee) is fine, yes. I was pronouncing Liney Line-ee. Like ... your kid has stick figures drawn all over her body.

I think nicknames can be whatever you want them to be. In my family we call each other things like Snoozy, Bitsy, Boo-Boo and Mammilams.

I think nicknames can be whatever you want them to be! If it's important that you have the nickname in the name, you could use Madelena (Mad-uh-layna) but I personally think it's fine.

I think nn's can be whatever you want them to be. Laney is cute.
I think of it as more of a nn for Delaney, but like it said it doesn't really matter imo!
My son is Wyatt and his nn is Pops. lol

I think Laney can stand alone, without being a nn for anything. It is actually on my list for my DD due in May.
