So we've narrowed it down to four names, please give us your feedback!

Leila Garnet- pronounced lay-la I love this name, but am worried about it's rising popularity, as well as constant misspellings and misspronounciations.

Lila Garnet: pronounced lie-la. I'm worried about it being mispronounced, as everyone seems to think it should be lee-la or lil-ah. It also seems kind of unfinished to me...

Delilah Garnet- I love this name, but am concerned about the Biblical association. NN would be Lila/ Lilah I'm also not sure if it goes well with Oliver (DS)

Clara Garnet- Cute, but Claire is ultra popular here, and I fear that her name would be shortened to Clare, too.

Which would you choose/ what are your perceptions of these names?

I love love love the name Leila. I would probably spell it Layla just because I wouldn't want to deal w/ the mis-pronunciations. But if it doesn't bug you--the spelling is cool too. As far as the rising popularity...my feelings are that you kind of just have to ignore the trend. If you like the name--if you LOVE the name--you will regret not using it just because of popularity. Anyway-it seems like people are really starting to become diverse as far as names go...a lot of less common names are becoming very popular...it's inevitable...so I say go for Leila.

Delilah and Lila are pretty too...I'm not really one to worry about biblical associations--there are A TON of names w/ biblical associations--it's hard to get around it! As far as Clara goes--I'm sorry, I don't really care for it. I think of old ladies. I do like Claire or Clare though...Leila is by FAR my favorite!!!!

I would go with Lilah Garnet (putting a H on the end may make it feel finished?).

Leila - been there, done that!

Lila - it does look unfinished.

Delilah - I like this.

Clara - like this one too.

Between Delilah and Clara ... I'm really not sure. Personally, I would choose Delilah, because nobody in my family would catch the biblical thing BUT I do have an aunt Clara. If I could choose whichever one I wanted without input from anyone else and my family had miraculously disappeared I'm still not sure. Delilah is a little longer and finished for a formal name, Clara is simple and sweet ... it depends on which you'd rather have.

I like Leila the best. That name is at the top of my list but we would spell it Layla for pronunciation reasons.

In order
Leila Garnet- So pretty. Some people may mis-pronounce it on paper, but I think it is common enough that it wont happen often.
Delilah Garnet- I love Delilah but I understand your problem with the biblical association. It's really hard because the sound is beautiful.
Lila Garnet- A little unfinshed but a nice option if you are worried about Delilah.
Clara Garnet- pretty, just not my favorite.

I thought you were considering Eliora? I love Eliora and just Liora.
I would go with Leila. I really dislike the rest.

Delilah is beautiful definetly my favourite...and as for the biblical thing it really doesn't matter. Im pagan and my favourite names are Noah, Jonah, Elijah and Isaiah...all biblical. I couldn't really care that much personally. *shrugs* Delilah Garnet is gorgeous

My favorite of your final four is Lila Garnet. Sure it might get mispronounced some, but it's soooo pretty, it'll be worth it.

I like Lila and Clara. Delilah reminds me of samson and Delilah too much and I think that Leila is going to become really popular.

Thanks Ladies!

I think we are down to Leila and Clara!

DH can't get past the Biblical association of Delilah, and I really only like Lila as a NN for Delilah.

DH wants a common name since he grew up as a Byron, and I really want a more unusual name since I grew up as a Kate/ Katie L.!

Leila/Layla is actually way less popular than Claire in our area (Claire was the #3 name at our hospital after Madison (and variants) and Ava, and there was not a single Leila/Layla/Laila) so I am really hesitant to use Clara.

I think that if this been is a girl, we are going to wait and see where Leila and Clara go on the popularity charts and make a decision.

MelMel , I love Eliora/Liora and a ton of other modern Hebrew names, but they are the first names that DH crossed off the list. He REALLY wants a common name, and won't have anything "weird," "ethnic" (like Annika!) or that is out of the top 150, basically.

If he had his way, this baby would be Amy, Emily or Hailey!

First I want to compliment you on your style because those are all really beautiful names!

Leila Garnet - beautiful, and this is the only spelling of this name that I like. But I do think it would probably get mispronounced or misspelled if people only heard the name.

Lila Garnet - I love it and I don't think it looks unfinished at all!

Delilah Garnet - Also beautiful, and a good formal name if you really feel that Lila looks unfinished. As for the biblical associations, I think that when people hear the name Delilah maybe the fact that it is a biblical name would come to mind, but not always the particular biblical story.

Clara Garnet - Very sweet. But perhaps a little too similar to Claire if that is popular in your area.

Of all these names I would go with Lila or Delilah. I think both are beautiful and different and both sound very cute with your DS! Good Luck !!!

Isn't your husband Jewish? Why would he not like an amazing Mod-Jewish name?
I'm not even Jewish and I would love to use Eliora. That's it, I'm converting!

You're left with only one option:
Sign the birth certificate while he is out of the room!!!
Eliora and Oliver are just... sooo perfect.

I would prefer it spelled Layla but Layla and Oliver look odd to me.
So, Leila is my pick.
