How do you pronounce this name... with a long E sound (Teegan) or a long A sound (Tagan)? We like this name a lot, but my husband prefers it with the long A sound. Is there any other way to spell it?

Long E. I like the name as well as the shorter version, Teague.
If you want the long A sound, you'll probably have to re-spell it.

Tagen, Taygen or Taegan would be my suggestions. It's a nice twist with that pronounciation.

It's pronounced with the long E sound. EA is generally long E.

My friend's name is Tegan Pronounce with the long A sound, well, really the EH sound of a short E but it tends to sound Long A.

We prefer the pronunciation Tay-gen too... but aren't sure how to spell it correctly (if there is a correct way)!

Thank you! So... Tegan is the way we would want it then, with the A sound. Thanks again!!

I like the spelling Tegan a lot but I think it will still be constantly mispronounced as Tee-gan. Go with the spelling Tegan if you don't mind correcting pronunciation!

If mispronunciations do bother you, you may want to be really clear in the spelling with Taygan or Taygen.
