We have decided to name our little girl: Caelyn. We had originally planned on using Lauren as a mn, due to the recent death of my father-in-law, Lawrence (we always called him Larry). So the problem is we don't like the way Caelyn Lauren flows together. With the help of this board, we had alternate suggestions that still represent the name Lawrence or Larry. Is there one that sounds the best to you?

Caelyn Lara
Caelyn Laura
Caelyn Larissa
Caelyn Larae (or Laray)

*or am I wrong about Caelyn Lauren. Is it not as bad as I think with the same ending sound?
*other suggestions also appreciated.

Thank you!!

I don't think Caelyn Lauren sounds bad at all....do you mind sharing your last name? I also like Caelyn Lara and Caelyn Laura.

If I was you I would still use Lauren because it is more like Lawrence. In fact, I might even go with the spelling Lawren. It's beautiful that you want to honor your late FIL, and I would do so even if the name did not flow perfectly. Your daughter will appreciate having a part of the grandfather she'll never meet with her this way. The two -en sounds aren't bad together and anyway, to me the more difficult pronunciation comes from having two L's close together, and you can't get around that.

Thank you for your opinion! I know it would mean more to my husband to use Lauren than another name. I think you're right that the meaning is what will make it so important! I like the idea of spelling it Lawren too. Thanks!!

Since you are using it to honor a relative I say go with Lawren! Caelyn Larissa is a nice combo also.
