Okay...I have always loved Adrian for a boy. But, for some reason--I really don' t like the name for a girl. Wdyt? If I convince my DH, it may go on our short list...

I have heard it on girls and boys--so I think (?) it's legit for both?

Monk?

Sorry, had to say it. You'd have to evaluate how much people still remember the show when he's born.

I like it though. Like you, I also dislike Adrienne/however they spell it for a girl. Not that Adrian Monk's a bad character ... I think little boys would make fun of the OCD/cleanliness thing.

Male:

Adrian
Adrien (French)

Girl:

Adrienne

I love them all, this was my #1 for a boy but I fell in love with Julian. I wouldn't use Adrian on a girl, save it for a boy.

Academy Award winner for "The Pianist"several years back was...Adrien Brody. I like the name, but I would use it with the more masculine "e" in it, and probably just as a middle name.

I know more male Adrian's then female. I think of it as a male name unless it is Adrienne. But then I pronounce them differently.

I think Adrian really can go either way. I like it for both genders, with these spellings:
boy - Adrien
girl - Adrienne

I like it for a boy, it reminds me of a very attractive foreign man.

way too feminine sounding for me. I do like some feminine sounding names on boys, but this isn't one of them.
