My best friend spelled her son's name Devon, but I think it's cute either way.

If you want folks to guess right on the spelling most of the time, I'd go with Devin--that is the most common I've seen. If you spell it any other way, you are going to have to correct everyone all the time... Believe me, my own first name is one that that is not common and constantly having to spell my name for people gets old. I'm sure some people will still Devin wrong, but I think it's the most common that people would guess... Of course if you want it to be unique, you can go with one of the other ways, but keep the spelling thing in mind--I think people forget that when they come up with crazy ways to spell otherwise common names.

That is exactly what I'm worried about. I spelt my daughter's name Danyelle and regret doing so. I would rather spell it Devin but wonder if it is more feminine spelt that way than Devon.

Thanks everyone!

One of my SIL's has a goddaughter named this. They spell it Devanne. But, problem with that, although it looks femine, it also looks like DEV ANN kwim?
My brothers wife (at this point, I refuse to call her my SIL) has a neice named Devin.
I think it's a cute name.
