For a girl? There was a lady in my store earlier with her little girl and her name was Briar. I think its kind of pretty.

I'm not sure, how do you pronounce it? Bree-arr? Bry-air?

It reminds me of Sleeping Beauty. I don't think it sounds very pretty.

Yeah its Briar as in Briar Rose. I asked the little girl if her middle name is Rose and crinkled up her nose and said, "No its Madeline!" She was so cute.

It's very cute and unique! I don't think it's ultra feminine though.

ETA: My husband gets reminded of ice cream when he hears this name...

It reminds me of Sleeping Beauty. I actually know a boy with this name spelled Bryer. So that's my other association.

I really like it... if my last name wasn't Brown, I'd add it to our list!

This name makes me think of a briar patch like where blackberries grow. I think I'd like it better as Breyer, but I would prefer it as a boy's name.

I really like it an area DJ, just named her daughter Briar Rose after Sleeping Beauty.
And I also met a boy named BRIAR, don't know how they spelled it for the boy though, I could see it getting messed up with Bryan though.

For a girl yes.
For a boy no only b/c of its closeness to Bryan.

Sorry. Just lurking in here. I love the name, infact it is my daughters third name (Xylia Taryn Briar). Although it has other meanings for me. Didn't realise it was off Sleeping Beauty, lol.
