When you see or hear the name Avery, do you think of a girl or boy? I like this name a lot, and I think of a girl, but I also know a boy with this name too. Is there a feminine and a masculine way to spell it, or is this the only way? Thanks!

I think Avery is a girls name. I don't like it for a boy at all.

I think it's more of a boys' name, and as far as I know, there are no alternate spellings.

I think it "could" be used for either but I would worry about using it on a boy since it has become so feminized.

Avery is a boys' name. It happens to have recently been used on girls, but that does not make it a good girls' name.

Girl. It may have started as a boys name but that doesn't mean it's not now associated with females.

I think boy. I used to really like this name for a boy but now it is way too popular with girls to use for a boy.

I think girl. I think this is actually the name we are going to use for our little girl. I don't know anyone with the name personally, so I have no pre-conceived notions but I think of it as a girls name and absolutely love it. To me it is a girls name without being too feminine if you know what I mean.

It started out as a boy name. But because of the latest "boy name for girl" trend, it's now a girl name. MOST people associate it with a girl now.........kind of like Cameron, Aubrey, Tristan, Hayden etc.

I think boy. That might only be because a friend of mine is going to name her baby, Avery if it's a boy

My husband and I are also considering Avery, but only for a boy. I think it would be an okay girl name, too.
