Do you hate it just because you dont like surnames as first names, or is it something else?
If you love it, why?
We are thinking of it for a girl... We want to use a family name of Grace, and we like the name Emma as a nickname but dont want to use Emma as the full given name. We'd probably use the nickname of Emma, Emmy or Gray (for Grace.. its a family thing)
So Emerson Grace? It seems boring as Emma Grace.. and I"m pretty opposed to common middle names, but again its a family thing.

I don't like it much. For a boy, it sounds O.K., but sort of nerdy. I don't like it at all for a girl. It's really trendy for some reason, and I don't like the -son surnames on girls trend. Emerson Grace does seem like it would be a really common name.
I really love it for a boy spelt Emerson, its OK on a girl all though I would spell it Emersyn to get rid of the "son" part. If it was me I would use Emmalie as a longer name for Emma! Grace is a beautiful MN BTW!
