So for weeks my DH and I have been trying to find a name that's not too popular. Kinda hard in this overpopulated world, eh?...lol Anyways, I saw this name and we really liked it but I'd like an outside opinion. Thanks!

Emilia Anne

Nickname: Mila (me-lah)

It sounds lovely.

The only issue will be spelling. Honestly, if you told me "Emilia" over the phone, I would write down "Amelia". And if I saw it written on a list, I might try pronouncing it like "Emily" if I thought there was a possibility of a typo (I've seen Emily spelled Emilie a lot, which is only one letter off).

I know there are subtle differences in pronunciation (between Emilia and Amelia), but in a case like over the phone or when someone is meeting you for the first time, most will probably assume her name is Amelia.

It's beautiful and the combination is nice too. It's just begging to be mistaken for another name (or in this case, two other names). That's a shame because it's lovely, but it will be a hassle.

I like Mila a lot. I would just name her that but if you wanted a longer name for her, Emilia is a nice choice.

I have a friend who is due in a week naming her daughter Emilia. I think it is very pretty but also wonder about the confusion between Amelia and Emilia. In this day and age with all of the different spellings of names I do not think it is as big of a deal, but still something to consider.

I like it a lot, but I agree that it would be kind of a hassle.

Emilia Anne is beautiful, so much better than the overplayed Amelia. Mila is a nice nickname.

If I saw it written down, I would not confuse it with Emily. I don't pronounce it exactly like Amelia, either.

Oh my god, I love that. I don't say it exactly like Amelia either. I say Em-meal-yuh instead of Ah-meal-yuh.

I love it and I might steal it, but not Anne.
