Emerson for a girl? Does it sound too masculine? I seem to prefer unisex names for girls (my other picks are Riley, Avery, Sydney).

We were trying to use a family name from dh's side...not sure if any go though.
The family choices are: Suzanne, Elizabeth, Lani, Marilyn. Do you think any of these go?

Do you have any other mn suggestions in case we decide to use something other than family name?

By the way....her nn would be Emmy.

THANKS!

Melissa

I like Emerson for a girl. I think with your family names Emerson Elizabeth sounds the best.

I like Emerson Lani the best but I am not crazy about Emerson (do like the nn Emmy though).

I do love the name Sydney though! I think Sydney Elizabeth is very pretty!

Emerson Suzanne isn't bad...but also Emerson Elizabeth. Out of your other choices, I liked Sydney Elizabeth.

Also, as for other mn options....what about something shorter, like Emerson Rose, Emerson Anne, Emerson Lynn, Emerson Lee (or Leigh or Leah), or Emerson Rae (or Raeanne, Rayanne, Rayne, Raine, etc) Just some other ideas!

First, I gotta tell you a story-When I got up this morning I was on my way to the bathroom to take a shower, and all of a sudden the name Emerson popped into my head, but didnt know if it was a good name for a girl. Okay, my story is over, and I like Emerson Suzanne the best, with Elizabeth following closely.

I had to tell you I asked my DH about Emerson and he immediately said "NO!" no surprise, but I asked what was the first thing that popped in his mind and he said Electronics! OH WELL! Had to share.

I don't care for Emerson on a girl, or even on a boy. But I pick Emerson Elizabeth out of the middle name choices.

I'm not a fan of Emerson on a girl. So many great boy names have been stolen by the girls, never to return...I'd hate to see Emerson ( a great male namesake) go the same route.
