I just had my baby girl and I didn't know what to name her. I thought she was a boy. Well my son's name is Brycen Joel and we call him B.J. mostly. Well my mom named my daughter Brailey Jade, do you like it? I'm okay with it but I now wish I would have named her. DId i make a horrible mistake?
I really like the name alot, but I think that I would feel a bit 'down' about it too if I didnt name my own child, or at least had a part in naming her. I dont think you made a horrible mistake at all, she has a beautiful name. Maybe you could make your own special nickname for her, that no one else calls her.
Proud SAHM to my 5 beauties
Proud wife to my amazing husband, Joey
It is a sweet name! I know a little girl with the name Bailey Jade but never Brailey I really like it. I think it is a great name but why did your mom name her and not you? just wondering sorry if you don't want to answer?
Well, I didn't name her because I was shocked that she was a girl. I was so overwhelmed I thought that she was a boy, and I knew how to handle a boy. So mom just spit out the name and I said yeah sure. Now, I call her Due Bug. That is my nickname for her and no one else calls her that.
I see that is understandable. The name is beautiful either way and the nick name is so cute!
When I was pregnant with our daughter Jordan my MIL use to love to tell me the story of her friend who went into delivery to have a boy...(husband was so excited it was their first...Room was all ready done in a Blue and sport theme) and they came out with twin girls! LOL this was back in the early 70's and ultra sound did not show much...supposedly one was in front or the other so they thought it was only 1 baby and I guess it looked like a boy.
I have seen the sonogram photo from 1978 when my mom was pregnant with me and often wondered how they knew it was one baby since it had no real definition other then 2 large black circles...(mom said that was how they knew...one for the bum and one for the head) anyway ultra sound has come a long way.
