I instantly thought of the Cain & Abel story too. And, even if you spell it differently, most people being introduced to you don't see your name spelled for awhile if ever. Even if I could get past the Cain & Abel story, it'd bother me that others were thinking of it when introduced to my child. Not the kind of association I would want.

I think with todays culture that biblical associations arent really that big of a deal, it's just a name after all![/b]
I think that depends on where you live.

I love the name but won't use it bc of the biblical association.
I don't think "devil" but I do think of the first murder in the bible.

And I would prefer the spelling Cain or Cane. Maybe even Kane.

It's a shame because I like the sound of it, but I do associate it with "evil" (not the devil). I would never use it, same reason that I wouldn't use Damon, Damien, or Dante. They all remind me of the same thing. But, like I said, I do like the way it sounds.

I agree with Breanna. It sounds cute, but when you sit and think about it the association of the name is difficult to ignore.

I don't like it because of the Bible history.
