Ok our first daughter's name is Maddison Jayde ( Maddie J and MJ as NN)

Maddie J has decided on Carlee for the baby ( which Hubby and i both Love)
But the Middle name we were going to go with was
Jean ( this is my MIL middle name, My Dad's Name and my Grandma's name so it would cover everyone LOL)

But does it flow?
Carlee Jean?
Maddie J wants to call her CJ so i wanted to stick with a J middle name.Plus she wanted to use her middle name but i thought it was weird to have 2 kids with the same middle name.

I know most are wondering why we are letting our almost 5 yr old play such a big part in naming the baby, we just want her to feel like she IS a big part as well ya know.

thanks for your help

Carlee Jean is a great name, and I think Jayde sounds good as well-I dont think its weird to have 2 girls with the same mn, but I think that I would kinda want to pick out part of her name. I do think its great that you are letting Maddie J have such a big part in naming her, and she did a great job, but I would at least want to pick the mn. Thats just me though. Anyway, I think Carlee Jean sounds great!

yes it is still a toss up between Karlee and Carlee. If we went with the K then KJ as a nn sounds weird LOL BUT i could call her KK.

Everyone seems to go with Intials ( maddison went from Maddsion to Maddie j to MJ at school LOL)

I think it's cool to let your daughter help pick out the name. I asked my youngest what we should name our baby. Unfortunately, we won't be going with his selection. He's only 4, and wants to name her Kelly Clarkson. Go figure! LOL

Great idea, I like the fact of MJ helping so much. Carlee is cute and I like the nn CJ alot to go with her sister. KK is okay but I prefer CJ. Jean is a fine middle name. It isn't weird for them to both have the same middle name but I would make them different JMO! GOODLUCK!

LOL maddie j will be 5 on halloween and the way she choose carlee is because she is a HUGE gymnastic fan and thinks she is going to be the next olympic gold medalist like CARLEY PATTERSON LOL
so she decided she liked the name carlee LOL
she actually spelled it karlee first cause that is the way it sounded and i loved that spelling but then she realized that with a K she could not call her CJ LOL
so i know where your 4 yr old is coming from LOL

I think Carlee/Karlee Jean sounds very nice ( I too am trying to find the perfect first name for my Little girl using my Mom's middle name of Jean, and my Father in law is Gene) I do prefer the spelling Karlee, but I agree with CJ being better intitials if she well go by intitials. And I love the idea of MJ helping pick the name, and she did a GREAT job.

I like Carlee Jean. I actually perfer Carlee to Karlee. I don't know why but I think it looks softer with the C. Plus CJ is great for a nickname.

A friend I had in college was name by her older sister. Francie - after her sister's Francie doll

If I ever have another child, I'd be afraid to have Lucy name her. She comes up with weird names for her dolls like Quada & Caana
