Nah! I don't even think of Scooby Doo when I hear the name ... it didn't come to mind until I opened the thread. I think of laurel trees and nymphs in the forest instead. Greek mythology. Definitely not cartoon characters!

I wasn't a big Scooby Doo watcher, though. A kid named Shaggy, sure, I'd think of Scooby. But not really Daphne.

I didn't think of Scooby Doo until I read your post. But I'm still not a fan of the name.

i really like it, its on my list. I don't think of Scooby Doo but the nn of "Daph (Daf or Daffy)" bothers me and I have a feeling that would really bother my DH.

I Love the name Daphne, i do think Scooby Doo a little, but who cares! I love Phoebe and am using it for my daughter - and many people think it will always be associated with the TV show 'Friends'. But my take is that by the time she's in school the TV show Friends will be a thing of the past. And you never know what names future TV shows might use...anything you choose could become associated with a show in the future.

I didn't even think of Scooby Doo until I read your post. By the time a little girl named Daphne is in school, kids will probably be watching different cartoons and not even know about scooby doo.

I used to watch Scooby-Doo quite a lot when I was younger but even so, I'd actually completely forgotton that Daphne was one of the characters names so I don't think it's going to be associated with her forever...I think it's a beautiful name

I don't think of scooby doo when i encounter the name - it reminds me of the Greek mythological association instead. It's a beautiful name.
