It's kinda like Ava but with a "D" instead. WDYT? Do you prefer Ada or Ava?

Its nice, i prefer Ava but with Ava being super popular Ada is a nice alternative!
Ive recently liked the name Adelaide, i dont know if Ada could be used as a NN for that?
I dont like Adalyn because it looks like a bad attempt at trying to find an alternative for Madelyn/Madeline/Madeleine.

It's a bit too short for my taste... kinda like Amy... I prefer names with at least 3 syllables. So if anything, I would use it as a nickname to Adalyn or the like.

I think it's "Ava without being Ava". Kind of like Adeline/lyn and the like. They're Madeline/lyn without being Madeline/lyn. And now becoming more popular, Emmeline. It's Emma and Emily without being Emma or Emily.

Those sort of names always strike me as someone liking names that sound trendy and wanting their child to fit in with the crowd, but still trying to be different.

I used to like Ada, but it sounds so similar to Ava, it seems overused. The sounds are too common for my taste.

Just lurking---Im biased, its my daughters middle name and I love it. Sometimes I wish I wouldve talked DH into using it for her first name.

It sounds trendy to me too, like an alternative to Ava, but aside from that, I like it. I have always preferred it to Ava. I like some of the longer Ad- names too.

Adelaide
Adeline
Adeliza
Adelinde
Adele
Adela
Adriana
Adina
Adelheid
