I came across the name Adalynn today on a baby names website. I like similar names such as Madeline, Addison, and Adeline, but we are looking for something a little more unique due to our last name being so popular, but we don't want something over the top wierd. Her middle name will either be Heather or Meadow after her aunt.

What do you think?

Adalynn Heather Smith
Adalynn Meadow Smith

It's not unique, it's actually a bit trendy. I think Adeline looks better. Do you like any other uncommon Ad- names?

Adelinde
Adela
Adeliza
Adelheid
Adelia
Adamina

I love Heather.

There are so many names being nade-up and used today that end in -lynn. Adalynn is just going to blend in with all of those. Adeline would be more unique I think, and it's much prettier.

I was thinking about using it as well! But spelling it Adalyn....until I realized that it IS becoming popular, my DD's name is so uncommon I need another name that is uncommon.

I like Adalynn Heather the best

We don't want to use Adeline. Here in the midwest this name is extremely popular and the I is pronounced with the hard I sound which I do not like.

I guess to me Adalynn is unique as it has not been in the top 1000 names for little girls registered with the Social Security office ever in the US. Who knows.

Haha! I just posted this name a few days ago! I'd never heard it before and I love it. I like it spelled like that too. I agree that I happen to pronounce Adeline w/ a hard I sound. Super cute! And I actually like Adalynn Meadow the best.

I just got done reading your post and started laughing! It just may be the next big trend! I did check in 4 different baby name books and it's not in any of them yet!

All I see is Add-A-Lynn, which is what I call this naming trend. !
