Hello ladies. I am Brooke, due for baby #4 in March, just 3 short months. The months seem a lot shorter the more I think about how much I hate this naming process. I just don't LOVE any name at all right now. No matter how much I look, I just get more frustrated because I don't really want to use any name. We don't know what we're having, so I have double the problem. I was hoping you gals could take a look at some of the names I have found that I like. I don't necessarily want to use any of them, because I don't love them. But maybe you'll get some inspiration from my "style." Not that my style is really a style LOL, because I like a lot of different kinds of names from various styles. But I could really use the help. The only other thing to consider is that DH is not a fan of anything too unique or uncommon. Our other kids are Mariah, Savannah and Jason. Thanks so much in advance!

Here are some I have jotted down lately:
Girls:
Megan
Carly
Lauryn
Avory
Autumn
Emily
Caitlyn
Amy
Iyla/ Ayla
Haley
Alyson
Macy
Gwendolyn
Bella
Alora
Alaina

Boys:
Xavier
Dominic
Caleb
Joshua
Isaiah/ Isaac
Zachary
Levi (I am the closest to loving this, but dh isn't a big fan)

thanks again!

I like:

Carly- maybe as a nickname for Caroline
Gwendolyn- LOVE. I just started a thread about this name actually (But spelled Gwendolen, which I like even more)
Bella- nice but only as a nickname (Isabella, Arabella, etc) but it's a little too popular for my liking.
Alaina- Really pretty and Lainey is such a cute nickname.

Dominic-love!
Caleb-nice
Joshua-Strong and classic
Isaiah-nice and uncommon

Gwendolyn and Dominic are my favorites.
Here's some random suggestions:

Naomi
Adeline
Anneliese
Audrey
Calista
Charlotte
Eliana
Genevieve
Kendra
Lila
Kaia
Lydia
Ruby
Sophie
Violet

Brennan
Corbin
Damian
Dean
Reed
Declan
Elliott
Miles
Nolan
Owen
Tristan

Lauryn- I like Lauren, but not spelled with the y.
Amy- love!
Alyson- I love Alison, but do not like the y.
Gwendolyn- I like it a lot. Also prefer Gwendolen.
Alaina- very pretty. I also like Elaina.
Dominic- I really like it.
Levi- love it!

I'm getting tired of the replacing-vowels-with-Ys trend, but otherwise, you have a lot of nice names on your list.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I like Naomi, Kendra, Ruby, and Sophie. For boys I like a couple, but have family members with those names (Miles, Owen)

MelMel, thank you too for the Nymbler names. I found that site through this forum awhile ago, and play around with it quite a bit, but still have the problem of not absolutely loving anything. From your list I like Max and DH has always loved Felicity.

This is helping just getting some other input, so if anyone else has suggestions, I would still greatly appreciate it! Thanks again everyone.

I would try just narrowing them down a bit. Sit down with DH and your list (adding the suggestions you liked from this thread) and ask yourselves "Can we imagine having a son/daughter named X?" Imagine calling a baby each name. Imagine calling a teenager each name. Does it feel like it might fit? Sometimes it's hard to know "the one" but it might be easier to cross off the names that are NOT "the one". A lot of times I can't tell you exactly what I want, but I can tell you what I don't want, kwim? If either one of you says no way, cross it off.

Once you have it whittled down to four or five for each, try making some fn/mn combinations and see if any jump out at you then, as a whole. They just might. If they don't, you always have time to decide when the baby's born! He/she might just look more like one name than the others ... then pick a middle name from the "leftovers".

GL!
