How long do you think it will take people to forget about that song and quit saying "Hey there, Delilah"?

actually when I considered this name most people we appalled b/c of the Biblical reference, the song never came up.

Now the name Jude I love and everyone thinks of the Beatles immediately

I think six months ago when I asked about it everyone referred to the Bible in their replies. Then that song came out and everyone thought of the Bible and "Hey There Delilah". Maybe in another six months the song will be forgotten? Or will it ever be?

Never heard that song. But I have heard a couple people mention it when the name Delilah is suggested. Again, I've never heard the song before. The only thing Delilah has a strong reference to for me is the biblical story, which isn't exactly the best reference for the name... BUT despite that, I absolutely adore Delilah. But then again, I also love the name Jezebel, which has a pretty bad biblical reference as well, lol.

When it comes to how long it'll take for people to forget the song... I don't think it'll be very long to be honest. A few people might say something here and there, but by the time a baby named Delilah is in school, I doubt the other kids will say anything.

It's such a beautiful name.

I've never heard the song, so that didn't come into my mind at all.

Not long. The song will never be a classic, it'll fade soon.

I don't know the song. I LOVE the name Delilah but I would never use it because of who Delilah was in the bible.

I luv Bible names and I adore the name Delilah even though she wasn't a positive role model lol.
I also like Delilah Belle as a combo and Lilah as a nn.

i actually started liking that name because of that song and that was like a few years ago before it got all popular, now it kind of bothers me. I think people will forget about it though because the Plain White T's are nowhere near as popular as say the Beatles (with the Hey Jude reference).

I don't think that the in 2 years anyone's going to remember the song. I do think that a lot of people have become 'reacquainted' with it so to speak, though. I would worry about a sharp spike in the popularity of Delilah. If popularity doesn't matter to you, I can't see it being associated with the song. I think it'll always be thought of as biblical, though. That association will always be there.
