I kinda like it. I have never heard it before. I don't think it would be confused with Emma.

Amalie is a form of Emily or a nickname for Amelia which means hard working. Amma is Hindi for mother and I am very attracted to it's long history and peaceful meaning.

I don't think it would be confused with Emma at all. It sounds/looks pretty different to me. I think I would use it as a nn for Amalie, though.

Honestly, I think it would. Since Emma is super-popular, if I read it, I would double check to make sure it wasn't a typo. That could definitely get annoying.

It could be confused with Anna too ... that sounds really similar in casual conversation.

I don't know if it will be confused with Emma, but it will certainly get confused with Anna all the time.

Amalie is a form of Amalia/Amelia. It can be a nickname, but it is also a stand-alone name. It is not related at all to Emily, which comes from the Latin name Emilia.

It'll probably be confused with Emma and Anna a lot. It also reminds me of "ammo".

I think it sounds like someone is just saying Emma wrong. I don't like it.
