I like it as a middle name but I have two problems...

1) When I look at it I think "Jolly". Do you see "Jo-lee" when you read it?
2) I can't think of a first name to go with it!

Any first name suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

I immediately think of Angelina Jolie, but if it's a middle name, I don't think that would be a probelm. I doubt that anyone will pronounce it jolly, because both the French word and Angelina's last name are pronounced Jo-lee.

Katherina Jolie
Susannah Jolie
Melisande Jolie
Francesca Jolie
Rosalind Jolie
Estella Jolie
Clarissa Jolie
Audrey Jolie
Helena Jolie
Maya Jolie
Natalia Jolie
Matilda Jolie
Laura Jolie

I definitely think of Angelina Jolie. The pronunciation "Jolly" did not even cross my mind.

I always think "Jo-lee" when I see it. But if thinking about the word "jolly" every time you see it is going to bother you, it might not be the best choice. I know there are names I like that remind me of other things, and some of them are so annoying, they just can't be on my list. I don't think other people will think of "jolly" but if you do yourself, that's something to think about.

For first names, I think anything ending in -a or -ah would sound great with it. Just some examples ...

Emma Jolie
Olivia Jolie
Isabella Jolie
Ava Jolie
Olivia Jolie
Hannah Jolie
Sophia Jolie
Savannah Jolie

I just took those from the SSA list, obviously, but you get what I mean. HTH!

I grew up in a French speaking country, so I think zho lee
I would hope someone named that would be pretty since that's what the name means.

I say it "Zho-lee", like the poster above me, because that's how you pronounce it in French. I wouldn't really name anyone that because you're setting them up for a fall if they're not gorgeous.

Why a French word and not a French name? There are tons of gorgeous ones. Of course, just my opinion.

Thanks for the comments. I actually wasn't aware of the French meaning. I like the name b/c it is a combo of two very important ladies in my life- Natalie and Bobi Jo. I'm kind of big on middle names having meaning so I was considering using it.
