I know I posted a similar post before...but I'm racking my brain....
DH and I both really like the name Callie, however, I prefer it as a nickname and he is okay with it as a first name. I feel like if I can find a first name that he likes enough that can use the nn Callie, then we can agree. The only first name that we *both* like is Callyn, but we both feel that it sounds too masculine.
Other names that I have considered but DH doesn't like are:
Calianna (my fave)
Calliah (pr Callie-uh)
Caleah (pr Ca-leeuh)
Names that can have the nn Callie but I won't use:
Caroline (love it but VERY bad association)
Calliope (just don't like it)
I like Calista and all of BrownEyedGirl's suggestions, especially Calanthe and Calanthia. Another name is Califia, the name of a mythological queen (who the state of California is named after). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Califia
Callyn looks like it should be pronounced Call-in, so I wouldn't use that. Calianna, Calliah, and Caleah all look made-up to me. Callie as a full name looks better than Callie spelled Caleigh/Calleigh. Those -leigh names all look weird to me.
Thanks guys The more I think about it the more I like Callie by itself....I wish DH would agree to spell it Calleigh...I love that spelling but DH hates 'leigh' spellings. Oh well. Atleast we have found a name that we both agree on (that very RARELY happens ) Thanks again for the comments!
