WDYT of it? Do you prefer it for a boy or girl? Can you think of any alternative ways of spelling it? I kind of like Emmarie (for a girl) but I'm not sure if it's too out there

I think of it as a boy name, because my mother's former boss' grandson was named Embry, which is close, and I've never heard it used on a girl before.

I do not know any alternative spellings, but a variant of it is Emeric.

I prefer it for a girl. I like it spelled Emery but I tend to like traditional spellings. I also like Ellery and Ellis.

I think I prefer Emery for a girl now, just because Emerson has been used a lot more for girls. I would much rather use a unisex name for my daughter than son, ya know?

Some alternative spellings: Emry, Emrie, Emree, Emerie, Emarie

I like Ellery a lot for a girl- maybe spelled Ellary so I can use the nn Ella?

I think it's a boys name .. It sounds very masculine to me. I prefer the spelling Emery.

I think of the name emery as a girl name. i was going to name my baby emery if it was a girl, but he is a boy and his name will be Elias!!!

other girls names i considered were: Elouise, Ella, Evangeline, Ellis, Embra, Brailey (mixed bradley and Bailey up...it was a total mistake and i have fallen in love with this name)

Boy names considered: Estavon, Ethan, Eli, Elias (i picked this one),

This is one of my guilty pleasures! It may actually be a masculine name, but I think it only fits girls. one of my good friend's has a niece named Emery Grace (first name, not first and middle)... and i have another friend wh is dating a BOY named Emery. Hmmph.

I don't care it mainly for the fact that it is unisex. I'm not a fan of unisex names at all.

I like the name Emery. Another spelling I noticed not listed is Emory. This name is not overly feminine, but can work as a unisex name, imo.

I prefer it on a boy, spelled Emory. I wouldn't personally use it though, especially since my niece is Emily and goes by Emma.

well the meaning is "work and ruler" and is listed as a boys name. so that is something to keep in mind. it also reminds me of a nail file so keep that in mind as far as dealing with the public in general. I know people can get defensive about names but always remember that your child is the one that has to live with it not you! My mom officially ruined a name I LOVED (Baylen). She said "Baylen? As in BAYLEN hay???" But thank god my own mother said that and made me realize what everyone else could see in it that I couldnt....
