I might be crazy but I love Frances! Fancy used to be a fairly common name in families that considered their daughters to be Southern belles. When the cutesy names went out of fashion people started using Fancy as a nickname for Frances.

Anyway, I think Fancy as a nickname for Frances is hopelessly cute. It definitely indulges my girly side. But then she'd still have Frances if she wanted something "serious", and I like Frances a lot too. I definitely wouldn't just name her Fancy!

Does anyone else like Frances or am I alone in this?

I like Frances a lot! Though to be honest I don't like the nn Fancy. I like Fran or Frankie.

I love Frances! It's not crazy at all, and it would be nice to see it used more often.

I think Fancy makes a cute nickname, but I really don't like Fran.

I like Frances for a middle name. I hate Fran and Fanny, yuck.

I also love Francesca, very nice.

I like Frances, and am considering it as a middle name for my daughter (first name Willa). I wouldn't use Fancy as a nn, but nice to know that's where the nn comes from. I love Frankie as a nickname.
