I really like it but don't know if I would ever use it. I prefer the spelling Delaney.

I like it by itself, but I also really like it in your sibset. Two names ending in an "e" sound and two ending in an "uh" sound.

My dh loves this name but we are getting alot of negetive feedback from family and friends so far. We have a street near us (well not near us about an hr away but all our friends know the rd) called Dulaney Valley Rd so whenever we say Delanie/Delaney we get " haha like Dulaney Valley Rd?". Would you let that discourage you from using a name? Part of me thinks that if we eliminated all names that were part of a street name there wouldn't be much left but the other part of me thinks we shouldn't use it due to this. We both love the way it sounds and when I named my dd Marinah I got lots of " haha like the boat dock" so maybe I should just ignore them especially since everyone loves her name now and I always get comments on how pretty it is. My family just tends to go for traditional and common names. Also do you think it would age ok?

Well, there are lots of Delaneys, so I guess when she got older she would have company in her age group! But personally, I wouldn't want to go by Delaney at age 40. It just doesn't sound professional or grown-up to me. If there are tons of them in your area though, it would probably age well, just because people will be used to it.

I don't think the street name will really matter once there is a gorgeous baby to carry the name. People won't remember all those comments!

i think its cute, I like the Delaney spelling better. We considered it for awhile while naming Alaina but we went with Alaina instead.
