Okay I'm looking for boys names that are usually shortened to a nickname. The family tradition in my hubby's family is to use Charles as the first name of the first born son and then call the boy by his middle name. My hubby's middle name is Joseph and they call him Joey... he wants to continue that nickname pattern.
Like Charles Andrew and call him Andy.
Or Charles Nicholas and call him Nick.
Of course all the names I love can't be made into nicknames (Cullen, Brody, Caleb)
I also like a lot of "C" names and the 2 C's together-- Charles Cullen kind of bothers me... I hate Charles to begin w/ but I'm trying to being supportive and he's letting me pick the middle name... with his set "rules".
Anyways... any suggestion would be much appreciated

Thanks girls!
-Brit

Well, if you get past disliking the 2 Cs, I think Charles Caleb could work. Cale would be okay as a nickname and it sounds pretty modern.

Charles Caleb (Cale)
Charles Jonathan (Joe, Jon, Jonny, Jack, Nate, Nathan)
Charles Nathaniel (Nate, Nathan)

Thought of some more ...

Charles Finnegan (Finn)
Charles Donovan (Don, Van)
Charles Dominic (Dom, Nic)
Charles Nicholas (Cole, Nico sounds a little more edgy and modern than Nick, I think, if you like it)
Charles Colman (Cole)
Charles Theodore (Theo)
Charles Gabriel (Gabe)

I like Charles Nathaniel nn Nate... that's cute. Or Charles Nicholas nn Cole is cute too. It's just so hard... I LOVE the name Cullen and would love to use it but I'm having a rough time talking him into it... and I think Charles Cullen doesn't sound all that great.
